POSITION TITLE: Shuttle Buggy Operator

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
  1. Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, backhoes, etc.
  2. Be familiar with and incorporate information derived from the manuals for the individual equipment being operated.
  3. Be familiar with the equipment and Daily Equipment Checklist
  4. Communicate with Project Manager/Foreperson as to the daily job specifications; operate the equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  5. Perform daily pre-start up procedures; i.e. note the service due date, check fluid levels and make sure the equipment to be used is in good running order, complete Daily Equipment Checklist
  6. Discuss with supervisor the anticipated production, type of materials being moved, number of trucks, etc.
  7. Be aware of other equipment working on the project and coordinate to work with the other equipment.
  8. When possible, leave the equipment in a place that is readily accessible to the Equipment Mover.
  9. Keep equipment clean. Wiping down equipment not only promotes positive public image, but enables the operator to inspect the equipment close range.
  10. Ability to follow directions.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
  12. Ability to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Arrive on time, ready/able to work, stay until shift/work is complete.
  2. Communication skills to effectively interact with co-workers at all levels
  3. Able to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly. Able to sit/stand/walk, bend, squat, crouch, reach over shoulder, climb, balance, push and pull frequently and//or for long periods of time.
  4. Be knowledgeable of materials and equipment needed to perform tasks.
  5. Related experience in construction field.
  6. Ability to utilize hearing protection and maintain required communication.
  7. Ability to read and comprehend material use instructions as well as basic work-related documents.
  8. Ability to work as a team member.
  9. Valid Hawaii driver’s license and favorable traffic abstract.
  10. Must be at least 21 years of age.
