POSITION TITLE: Service Truck Operator (4D)

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
  1. Checks job sheet and establishes daily service schedule in conjunction with supervisor.
  2. Must understand oil sampling techniques for various CAT, Hitachi, & other equipment. Must be able to understand oil analysis reports and determine possible wear origination from reports.
  3. Services all rolling stock, including fueling, greasing and changing oil & filters to maintain equipment.
  4. Maintains written daily log of service maintenance & Fuel Sheets on ALL equipment.
  5. Identifies problems on equipment and notifies Foreman, Heavy Duty Repairperson(s), or Quarry Management.
  6. Assists Heavy Duty Repairperson(s) as necessary.
  7. Checks vehicle(s) prior to driving and completes required CDL check lists.
  8. Follows DoT / OSHA / MSHA regulations and Company policies including PPE.
  9. Supervises and trains Apprentice(s), as required.
  10. Learns duties of other Shop personnel and provides coverage as needed.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  2. 3-5 years experience servicing and performing preventive maintenance on heavy equipment (Personal tools are required to perform basic PM servicing)
  3. Must have current CDL, Type B with a tanker and hazardous material endorsements and favorable driver history record and ability to pass DOT physical
  4. Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions.
  5. Must have basic mechanical skills and able to use hand tools to perform vehicle maintenance tasks.
  6. Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, or overtime as required by jobs.
  7. Good organizational skills & ability to communicate with management/supervisors.
  8. MS Word & MS Excel skill preferred for typing reports & record keeping.
