  1. Conducts all transactions and professional interactions, internally and externally, with the utmost of integrity, following the Grace Pacific code of conduct at all times as one who represents Grace Pacific as an ethical and honorable employee ensuring Grace Pacific is always viewed as a Fair and Honest company.
  2. Working with the Equipment Manager developing relationships with vendors to ensure that Grace Pacific is able to minimize life cycle costs and maximize the return on investment made in equipment.
  3. Prepares a written Request for Proposal for all equipment purchases to be distributed to vendors that describes the specifications of the equipment needed and any accessories or modifications required. Then receives and compiles all quotations with delivery information.
  4. Throughout the purchase process and life cycle management, looks for ways to maximize all value-added opportunities and documents these opportunities for consideration while making purchase decisions
  5. Oversea the sale of used equipment and underutilized equipment to include sale of all related spare parts for equipment removed from the Fleet.
  6. Administers and directs purchases of Parts and Supplies throughout Grace Pacific family of companies utilizing staff of purchasing agents.
  7. Researches and determines reliable sources of Parts, Supplies and Equipment. Approves purchase orders and assists in the control of price and quality.
  8. Works closely with other managers to ensure that correct parts are available at the best value for all vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
  9. Supervises Purchasing Agents and Parts Runner personnel to ensure accurate inventory levels along with proper receiving, scheduling and expediting of deliveries.
  10. Conducts timely performance appraisals, identifies training needs, arranges for appropriate training and provides guidance for career growth.
  11. Develops and updates a manual for procurement practices and procedures.
  12. Through purchasing staff requests and reviews price quote(s) and freight quotes for major part and supply purchases.
  13. Primary person responsible for inventory control. Prepares and evaluates regular Inventory Usage/Discrepancy reports and follows up as needed.
  14. Reviews and approves all material and freight invoices to ensure accuracy. Responsible for initiating claims accordingly.
  15. Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.
  16. Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.
  17. Other duties as assigned.
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business preferred.
  2. 5 years of purchasing management or related supervisory experience. Knowledge of inventory control, shipping regulations, product sourcing helpful.
  3. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email; aptitude to learn in-house systems relative to operations; keyboarding skills sufficient to complete daily tasks in a timely manner.
  4. Ability to perform management-level tasks.
  5. Ability to read and comprehend technical information, business and legal documents and information on industry developments.
  6. Ability to read blueprints is helpful
  7. Valid Hawaii driver’s license and favorable traffic abstract.
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective interaction with internal and external customers.
  9. High ethical standards to serve as a role model to department staff.
