POSITION TITLE: Operations Supervisor (Night)

  1. Oversees designated staff: May include hiring, disciplining, collaborating with Warehouse Foreperson on the job performance of crew members, ensuring competency levels, recommending appropriate training, conducting performance appraisals as required and recommending compensation adjustments.
  2. Conducts field inspections to monitor and ensure the delivery of quality services. (The Night supervisor is more heavily involved with ensuring the efficient movement and set-up activity for jobs at multiple locations that must be completed within specified time periods.)
  3. Collaborates with the Rentals Manager and participates in estimating and bidding activities to generate work for the department; may assign specific estimates/bids to the Traffic Plan Specialist and oversee the resulting output.(The Day supervisor would take the lead, make assignments, review and submit estimates and bids.)
  4. Coordinates with Dispatchers to set weekly work schedule of Traffic Technicians. Reviews workloads and may adjust work schedules and shift assignments to ensure proper staffing to meet work load requirements.
  5. Assists the Rentals Manager with special events and special projects, as needed.
  6. Investigates damages to equipment as well as staff or customer incidents in a timely manner, submits appropriate accident/incident reports in conformance with Company policies and consults with the Rentals Manager and/or Safety/HR on appropriate disciplinary action.
  7. Coordinates and participates in regular safety inspections and meetings.
  8. Makes recommendations to the Rentals Manager regarding major equipment purchases and generates material requests from the Company’s main warehouse and/or the Sign Shop.
  9. Oversees, approves and ensures that internal paperwork for assigned responsibilities flows in a timely manner, and in accordance with established department procedures.
  10. Assists as needed and as appropriate with customer service, scheduling and emergencies.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
  12. Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.
  13. Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.
  1. Community college preferred.
  2. 2 years experience in a similar operation or 3 years relevant supervisory experience.
  3. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, Email. Adaptable to in-house software. Keyboarding skills sufficient to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  4. Good mathematical skills to perform estimating and bid work.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  6. Ability to read and comprehend contracts and technical information and roadmaps.
  7. Blue print reading preferred.
  8. Valid Hawaii driver’s license and favorable traffic abstract.
  9. Familiarity with Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) preferred.
  10. Ability to read, interpret and explain traffic control plans.
  11. Ability to analyze situations to solve real and potential problems.
