  1. Coordinates prime and subcontract paving operations; reviews all related documents
  2. Prepares and updates daily paving schedules with general and subcontractors.
  3. Reviews change order proposal estimates, negotiates price changes with agency representatives, general and subcontractors.
  4. Reviews monthly pay estimates with billing department and tracks Work-In Progress for monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
  5. Coordinates paving operations with the plant, trucking, and equipment maintenance departments.
  6. Oversees and controls job related costs and quality. Sets and enforces the highest standards for safety and workmanship. Stays abreast of industry best practices; sets clear goals for production and quality.
  7. Prepares schedules of upcoming paving work, statewide, attends pre-construction meetings.
  8. Supervises Kauai, Oahu, Maui and Big Island field staff, Project Managers, and Construction Engineers.
  9. Responds to correspondence from owners, subcontractors and general contractors.
  10. Assists with preparation of estimates for projects bid Statewide; generates reports, projections.
  11. Schedules and conducts weekly meetings with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
  13. Promotes awareness of and follows or enforces Company, site, public safety and welfare, public roads and other safety policies.
  14. Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.
  1. BS Degree in Civil Engineering preferred (equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted).
  2. 10+ years relevant experience, preferably in asphalt paving contracting.
  3. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email; Vista experience desired; aptitude to learn in-house programs; keyboarding skills sufficient to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  4. Excellent math skills to calculate job costs and evaluate change order estimates.
  5. Must be able to read and understand job requirements and specifications.
  6. Ability to read blueprints is required.
  7. Type 3 driver’s license a favorable traffic abstract.
  8. Working knowledge and understanding of financial statements.
  9. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective internal and external communications.
