  1. Implement the next generation of our network and telephony infrastructure
  2. Work on concurrent high-profile network, security and infrastructure upgrade projects of varying sizes, while working hands-on with our staff and vendors to ensure successful execution
  3. Document and foster a deep institutional knowledge of our network across our technology staff
  4. Plan all projects with a thorough understanding and analysis of business requirements, technical needs and constraints, and audit and security mandates
  5. Advance our automation efforts across all aspects of our network and infrastructure
  6. Evaluate and recommend technology choices and vendor selections
  7. Create and track project schedules and budgets
  8. Troubleshoot network, job and security issues
  1. 4-8+ years current experience on enterprise-class networks
  2. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  3. CCNA certification required and CCNP preferred
  4. Demonstrated experience with hands-on delivery of complex networking, security and infrastructure projects at the enterprise level (i.e., MPLS, 802.1x)
  5. Knowledge of the “Internet protocol suite” of networking technologies (e.g., DNS, HTTP, LDAP, TCP, UDP, IPv4/6, etc)
  6. Knowledge of LAN and WAN networking, including wireless, VLAN, VPN, switching, routing and routing protocols
  7. Knowledge of telephony protocols and systems and how to design networks to best support them
  8. Ability to create and review network design and architecture patterns
  9. Experience with security hardening of networks and risk identification techniques
  10. Experience with firewall configuration and monitoring (Palo Alto, Sonicwall, and Cisco)
  11. Advanced abilities in configuring and wiring routers, switches and all server room equipment
  12. Knowledge of countermeasures against common network-based attacks such as DDoS, VLAN hopping, DNS attacks, MiTM, application layer attacks, etc.
  13. Detailed knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits
  14. Ability to communicate technical concepts and security risks in simple terms, both verbally and in written reports
  15. A talent for graphically representing systems in a highly consistent and elegant way
