PRINCIPAL DUTIES
  1. Oversees the Company’s cash flows on a daily basis.
  2. Manages the Accounts Payable (A/P) department, Accounts Receivable (A/R) department and Cost Accountant.
  3. Oversees development and refinement of internal and system processes to ensure effective operation of the A/P and A/R departments.
  4. Further develop the accounts receivable cycle, design, maintenance and management of the customer accounts, billings and collection processes across all business units.
  5. Accountable for the results of the A/R team including the collection of accounts receivable on a timely basis. Provides oversight of collections processes to ensure they follow credit laws, SOX compliance, internal control and industry best practice.
  6. Further develop the accounts payable cycle, design, maintenance and management of vendor accounts, invoice processing and payment issuance across all business units.
  7. Responsible for ensuring that the A/P department is making timely customer payments in line with applicable laws, SOX and internal controls, contractual obligations and company cash flow requirements.
  8. Manages the cost accounting, which includes: job costing, overhead, inventory, analyzing results, etc. and ensuring all accounting entries are timely, accurate, and properly supported and in compliance with GAAP.
  9. Serves as a part of the Finance & Accounting leadership team ensuring that departments work seamlessly together to achieve the divisions outcomes.
  10. Participates in and assists with various internal and external audits. Leads remediation efforts within defined areas and ensure compliance to updates as needed to policy, procedures or process.
  11. Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.
  12. Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.
  13. Performing other duties or ad hoc requests as assigned.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. College Degree in Business Administration. Degree in Accounting Preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
  2. 5 years relevant experience in accounting, or closely related field
  3. 2 years experience managing people
  4. Previous experience in Construction or Asphalt business, preferred.
  5. Working Knowledge of Word, Excel, Email; aptitude to learn in-house systems
  6. Keyboarding skills sufficient to complete daily tasks in a timely manner
  7. CPA Preferred
  8. Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and experience complying with SOX requirements.
  9. Excellent analytical skills.
  10. Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
  11. Ability to work collaboratively with all departments, management levels within the company and external stakeholders.
  12. Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate accounting and financial information in a concise and easy to understand manner.
  13. Independent problem solver with ability to proactively develop and successfully lead initiatives.
  14. Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills and a strong personal commitment to meeting deadlines.
  15. Team-oriented, mature and able to resolve conflict.
  16. Strong attention to detail.
  17. Must demonstrate sound judgment and integrity beyond reproach in all situations.
