POSITION TITLE: Director of Financial and Strategic Planning

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
  1. Business Partnering
    • Conducts analysis of business drivers, trends & performance indicators, providing support to business leaders in making strategic decisions and improving operating results
    • Works closely with business leaders to evaluate capital needs and large project investments, providing financial return analysis to support decision making
    • Owns the capital investment policy and related processes including creating capital expenditure requests, roles and responsibilities, financial justifications, review and approvals
  2. Financial Analysis
    • Responsible for creating and maintaining variance analyses for actual results compared to plan and prior periods for the Grace Pacific business units and providing variance analysis reports to key stakeholders
    • Understands business drivers, provide analysis and interpret financial data for use in management reviews and decisions; Recommend measures to further improve results
    • Provides ad-hoc analysis, as needed
  3. Forecasting/Budgeting (Operating Plan)
    • Owns the entire annual budget and periodic forecasting process for Grace Pacific and its various businesses.
    • Works closely with business leaders to understand key business drivers and build operating plans and quarterly forecasts, including the consolidation of various Grace Pacific businesses, income statement projections, forecasted balance sheet, and projected cash flows
    • Performs sensitivity analysis and other analysis, as needed
    • Leads the preparation and presentation of operating plan and forecast review meetings with business leaders, and support the preparation of related A&B board presentations
  4. Reporting
    • Develops, tracks and communicates Key Performance Indicators that will help evaluate and drive performance for operating initiatives and strategic priorities
    • Leads the preparation and presentation of quarterly operational review meetings with business leaders
    • Supports the preparation of quarterly board reports and earnings call materials, as it relates to Grace Pacific performance
  5. Financial modeling - Create, automate and maintain financial models to support forecasting, investment/project return evaluations, financial analysis, and sensitivity analysis. This includes developing reliable, robust models that build on key business drivers and efficiently link various inputs and outputs.
  6. Special projects and other responsibilities - Perform special projects and analyses to support the Company’s strategic and financial initiatives, and value creation objectives.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.
  2. 10+ years of experience in finance, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, preferably in construction or manufacturing industries. This position requires a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and must have strong analytical and problem- solving abilities.
  3. Expert knowledge of Excel, including the ability to develop complex models. Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Experience with financial ERP systems, including Vista, and supporting applications such as Cognos and Spreadsheet Server.
  4. Strong skills in reviewing and analyzing financial data and performing calculations related to daily tasks; interpreting and communicating that data to others within the organization.
  5. Strong critical thinking skills and ability to influence others
  6. Ability to prepare and interpret analysis and financial impacts of investment decisions; communicate and provide recommendations based on that analysis
  7. Proven success in leading financial forecasting, budgeting and financial modeling development
  8. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet goals and deadlines with little direct supervision
  9. Ability to read and interpret financial statements (income statement, balance sheet cash flows, etc.); Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls SOX compliance preferred
  10. Strong problem resolution skills, and a high degree of integrity, tact and diplomacy
  11. Effective communicator with strong written, oral and presentation skills
