POSITION TITLE: Business Analyst

  1. Works closely with management on analysis and review of projects, existing business activities, and new business opportunities.
  2. Drives development of line of business reporting and analysis.
  3. Works with management to identify and develop Key Performance Indicators ( KPI’s) in all areas of the business.
  4. Including but not limited to safety, environmental, customer service, operations, equipment and maintenance, asset management, human resources and finance.
  5. Builds weekly and monthly business performance reports to support business management decision-making.
  6. Develops five-year and extended outlook capital expenditure plans and budgets.
  7. Develops accounting, tracking and reporting systems to defend all costs submitted.
  8. Establishes P&L for regulated and unregulated business and profitability analysis.
  9. Provides direction and leadership to achieve company Values, Mission and Safety Mission.
  10. Excellent written and oral communication, as well as interpersonal skill are needed.
  11. Must be able to communicate financial concepts and reports to non-financial managers.
  12. Ability to think creatively and proactively bring issues and challenges to successful resolution.
  13. Ability to meet deadlines with work and is accurate and well thought out.
  14. Ability to organized and prioritize projects in a hectic environment.
  15. Work independently but keep the appropriate stakeholders well informed.
  16. Ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply this knowledge to job responsibilities.
  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field.
  2. 5 years in Construction experience, preferably in project management and/or estimating for public works projects. Must have a working knowledge of management accounting.
  3. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Email. Aptitude to learn in-house systems.
  4. Mathematical aptitude for engineering calculations and financial application and interpretation.
  5. Reading skills to comprehend the full scope of the project contracts, technical information relative to project materials, and legal requirements.
  6. Valid Hawaii driver’s license and favorable traffic abstract.
  7. Excellent interpersonal/organizational/documentation skills.
  8. Able to work independently and work flexible hours to meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
  9. Able to determine when to delegate tasks and communicate instructions in an appropriate manner.
  10. Must be at least 21 years of age.
